Micro Connect has developed a system that can anonymously capture MAC addresses of standard Bluetooth enabled devices (ie mobile phones, hands free kits ect) that are inside the moving vehicle.

The data is sent to a server using the same link as the Scats data traffic (with priority on the Scats Data).  The data can then be utilized to create Travel time information.

Micro Connect has worked very closely with South Australian Department for Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) and they are now offering a commercial product called Addinsight that offers highly advanced processing of the Bluetooth data. There is a live website showing the data collected from the Bluetooth system in Adelaide - http://www.addinsight.com.au/
